AIRLINES IN Spain could be forced to raise their ticket prices to include back-dated airport taxes. Increases on Spanish airport taxes are imminent but not yet in effect.
However, when the new charges are made official it is likely they will be back dated so there is no advantage in purchasing advance tickets to avoid paying the new taxes.
The new tax increases will be payable on the date of the flight. Iberia and Vueling have stated that passengers will be kept informed of developments.
